Relationships Matter
What’s the most important relationship that you have? Hint #1: It’s the relationship that, when nurtured, makes you feel more energized. Hint #2: It is the one relationship that you are in complete control of.
We are social beings, meant to be in relationships. Even if you are an introvert, relationships still matter. Who and what you choose to connect with will vary depending on your personality, however, we are all drawn to connection. So, it’s critical to notice which relationships fill you up and which ones drain you, and then be strategic with how and when you connect.
What if you were to make your needs the priority? How would you change the way that you spend your time? You are the boss of you (or are you?). How often do you abandon your connection needs to please another? It may feel uncomfortable to shift that pattern, especially if it’s been a long-time survival strategy.
Pleasing patterns can be something that we do across multiple lifetimes. If pleasing others is something you are struggling with, it’s likely a pattern your soul wants you to work on - likely one of your soul lessons. Breaking the pattern now means you don’t have to work on it again in the next lifetime. I don’t know about you, but knowing that is usually a big motivator for me to work on changing.
If your answer to my initial question about your most important relationship was any of the following - my relationship with myself, my relationship with my spirit, my relationship with Source, or my relationship with nature - then you are prioritizing well.
Prioritizing these relationships will energize you and connect you to your wholeness. If you like to serve others, then prioritizing your relationship with your spirit and with Source will enable you to serve from your wholeness, and that kind of service has the most profound impact. Self-compassion, time in nature, and taking quiet time to focus inward and expand your awareness are practices that can support the most important relationships listed above.
You get to decide. You are the boss of your life. Which means you are also responsible for the outcome. Choose you, please.
